Oil Spill Kit is designed to meet the requirements
of 33 CFR Part 155 of OPA 90 & CA1644
Under the
OPA 90, oil tankers navigate on the territorial sea
of the U.S.
must carry appropriate equipment to handle oil spill
on deck.

Oil
tankers' length less than 400 feet must have a spill
kit
|
|
on
board to contain and remove on-deck oil spills of
at
|
|
least
7 barrels ( = 294 Gallons = 1112 Liters).

|
Oil
tankers' length of 400 feet or more must have a
spill kit
|
|
on
board to contain and remove on-deck oil spills of
at
|
|
least
12 barrels ( = 504Gallons = 1907 Liters).
|
|
Vessels
carrying oil as secondary cargo must have a spill
|
|
kit
on board to contain and remove on-deck spills of
at least 1.5 barrels.

California
State of U.S. has carried out a new regulation, CA1644,
to subsume non-oil-tanker vessel to her Oil Spill Contingency
Plans.
Under
these new requirements, vessels must carry
appropriate equipment to comply with relative regulations
